Picture of Elizabeth Koehler

I have been the Middle School Librarian at the Darlington School in Rome, GA since 2011.

I hold a B.A. in English Adolescence Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia and an M.S. in Library Science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. (Go Heels!)

I believe in:

The infinite potential of young people.

 The unlimited power of imagination.

Giving all children the skills to be effective consumers and creators of information.

Using literature to support the self-concept of  children and adolescents.

This portfolio speaks to my professional background, interests, accomplishments, and beliefs. The information and examples herein articulate my teaching philosophy and my visions for a school library program. In this portfolio I demonstrate my education and showcase the work I have done toward becoming an effective, innovative, reflective, and successful school librarian and educator in the 21st Century.
